Computers are not a fool-proof system. It can crash, hang, freeze or die at any time for no apparent reason. They often don’t do what they are told. It’s a case of it-was-just-working-awhile ago syndrome where for unknown reason your computer, the moment when you need it most, just decided to act up instantly. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t know the basics of troubleshooting, you’ll certainly feel like a dummy trying to figure out what’s the next best thing to do: Do a repair, or do a hissy fit?
The goal of this website is to help You -- someone who’s just purchasing their first PC, a technology-challenged person, or someone who knows nothing about or maybe intimidated by computers. This website is not so much about the technicalities of computing. Those are reserve for the true-geeks…
The reason behind this blog
I‘ve been told by friends and acquaintances about their horror stories regarding their run-ins with shabby repair shops. My mom, an almost victim, brought her pc to a tech shop. The conclusion was to replace a RAM. Good thing I double-checked because the memory module was in good condition. The motherboard needed a new CMOS battery, that's it. Majority of these shops are also parts dealer, so first, they’ll give you a mumbo-jumbo about what’s wrong with the pc and their easy remedy is to replace a troublesome component which didn’t need to be replaced anyway. And at other times, if you’re lucky
An Advocacy of some sort…
My morals would not let me do this to people. That is the reason behind this website. To make people aware of how their computer works and beware of tricky repair shops. I have been repairing PC’s since the Windows 98 era. I don’t claim to be a true expert; I just want to share my knowledge on computing.
If you happen to be a newbie, I hope you find my blogs informative. If you happen to be a tech-god and don’t agree to what I posted, feel free to comment. Though, I urge you to impart your expertise, as well.
In any way, shape, or form I will try to update this website on a weekly basis.
